Buenaventura Grand Hotel & Great Moments - All Inclusive
4/10 Poor
"Most of the staff is friendly but the hotel is really small and extremely crowded. We traveled in a group of 7 and it took us 3 elevator rides each way to get to our room or down to the lobby. There is only ONE TINY elevator. The all inclusive amenities are not worth it there isn’t much to choose from. It’s the same food every day just plated different. The room service is part of the all inclusive but they charge you a “service fee” every time you order anything and there is a limit to what you can order. I do not recommend for anyone visiting for the first time. It would definitely leave a bad taste in your mouth and you probably wouldn’t never consider visiting PV again."

Hotel Riu Vallarta - All Inclusive

"Everything was very good"

Hotel Riu Flamingos - All Inclusive
2/10 Terrible
"This resort seems to cater primarily to locals, which may appeal to some travelers, but it was not the experience we expected. The biggest issue was the constant waiting. The single beach bar regularly had 15–20 minute lines, and the buffet was crowded with long waits for food. Cleanliness and supervision in the buffet area were also concerning, with guests and children frequently handling food with their hands. The pool areas and beach were disappointing. The pools often appeared dirty, loud personal speakers were common, and there was very little shade available. The beach itself was not well maintained. The specialty restaurants were also frustrating, operating at limited capacity with no reservations accepted. Guests had to line up 45 minutes or more before opening for a chance to get a table. All entertainment was conducted in Spanish, making it difficult for our children (ages 5 and 8) to participate or enjoy the activities. Line-cutting was common throughout the resort, and staff rarely addressed it. The one bright spot was our room, which was very clean and well maintained. Unfortunately, the overall experience did not meet our expectations."

Secrets Bahia Mita Surf & Spa - Adults Only - All Inclusive
6/10 Okay
"If you’re looking for a true adults-only all-inclusive beach vacation, Secrets may not the resort for you. Our stay from June 1–5 was good, but nothing exceptional. We booked two Junior Suite Panoramic View rooms, yet the “panoramic” view overlooked the parking lot and road, complete with bus traffic and car horns. The rooms were also inconsistent; one had a ceiling fan while the other didn’t, and the A/C struggled at times despite 90°F weather. The resort is marketed as adults-only, but that’s somewhat misleading. Secrets shares property and many activities with Dreams, a family resort. While certain pools and room areas are adults-only, children are still very audible throughout the property, including during evening events. There was also significant construction during our stay, which impacted beach views and created noise from drilling and maintenance work. Cleanliness was OK, but housekeeping and pool maintenance often felt delayed. Even after the pool opened at 9 a.m., staff were still cleaning, and cups and trash from the previous day were sometimes left behind. Another downside was the constant upselling. From timeshare presentations at check-in to $150/day cabana rentals and large alcohol advertisements displayed around the resort, it often felt like there was always something was being sold. The highlight of our stay was the food. The restaurants and buffets were consistently good, with only the French restaurant experiencing noticeably slow service."
