"I was pleasantly surprised at the high quality and spaciousness of my room (10).
Staff were friendly and professional; the assistant at breakfast was first rate in supporting a substantial number of guests. And the Craster kippers were excellent. The one thing missing at breakfast was a bowl of fresh fruit.
Dinner was well prepared and presented.
All in all a very good experience at the Duke of W."

"Generic but convenient.
Served our needs for visiting the area.
The bar was a bit bland and expensive.
The coffee could have been better at breakfast.
Staff at reception were excellent.
As someone who drinks a lot of water I also appreciated the water fountain."

"First and foremost the property was clean, functional and offered value for money. The staff were friendly and helpful, although our experience of room service was let down by dirty cups being left.
We found the hotel lacked character, everything about it was functional and not interesting. This extended to the breakfast, our experience of which was behind not eating supper there. This is not a criticism of the hotel, it is my view.
Based on reviews I expected a little more than we got....
