Excellent hotel. Check in was really quick even late at night. The room was so comfortable and breakfast was fantastic. We wished we were staying longer and will definitely return when we are next in the area.

Busy golfing hotel, service could be improved

Busy hotel…obviously a destination for groups of guys who want to drink and play golf. Restaurants and bars very busy, a bit rowdy. Restaurant bookings required, should’ve been emphasised at check in. This was the first time I’ve been turned away from a hotel restaurant with no attempt to find a solution other return at 9pm. Food was decent enough. Service a bit slow - don’t seem to have enough staff - staff were clearly working hard but so busy they can’t offer any personal touches such as checking in to see how food is etc Also booked a suite, but the images on hotels.com mainly reflect the upgrade suite options that were renovated in 2022. Suites are actually far more dated, bit disappointing but very spacious and clean

Stunning Hotel

We had a lovely stay at Slaley Hall. The bedroom was very clean and a good size , as was the bathroom and the bed was very comfortable. The evening meal was very good and we had a choice of restaurant or bar. The pool and surrounding area was excellent, loungers, sauna, even an area for drinks The breakfast was also very nice, with a good choice. A beautiful Hotel and a fantastic stay.

Great location and the staff were pleasant and helpful. Especially Mark who upgraded our and put a free bucket of cold beer in our room for when we arrived. The room was excellent with a view over the golf course,i couldn’t fault our stay here & definitely return.

The property was beautiful and the staff made our stay even more exceptional. The front of house/waiters at both breakfast and dinner were very attentive and had good humour. Spa and pool area was very nice. Good location for a trip into Hexham or Hadrian’s Wall and the forts. Will definitely return again!

Lovely grounds all be it raining. Renovations are currently under way however furniture still a little tired in rooms. The hotel overall is clean and welcoming, the staff are attentive and service was excellent.throughout. The spa was lovely .

We enjoyed the spa and treatment. It is all refreshing, although you cannot always get a lounger. Ask for a quiet room away from wedding parties. The manegement were excellent at resolving this for us and moved us for the second night. Staff were excellent, profesdional and friendly. I would go back again.

The room was beautifully clean and spacious. The bed was harder than usual. The swimming area was fantastic, very busy on a sat we had to wait about 30 mins. Sunday the spa was very quiet which was great! The restaurant was a disappointment, ordered lamb pie and it was pure fat. It took an hour to arrive so the offer to cook another meal was not an option I wanted to take as I was past being hungry. The pub restaurant down stairs was grubby and unclean, it put us off eating there. There were many rooms to have a drink, perhaps some board games in these rooms would be a good idea. The breakfast was lovely, really enjoyed it. I would return again but not dine in. It is worth a visit just for the spa experience, maybe not on a sat but definitely on a sunday.

Overall a great place to stay. Breakfast had a great choice. Evening meals were good. The only thing I wasnt happy with was the toiletries on offer. There was only one bottle which was your hand wash, shower gel and shampoo. I thought a hotel of this standard would have had separate options. Other than that we had a great stay and will be back.
