"on arrival, the property stunk and had bad odour of mice or rats but we did not see any, we found nail clipping on the floor and looked not well cleaned. On the first evening, people arrived at the property and showed us that they also booked the same property and questioned our booking, was awkward and embarcing to my wife and kids. Day 3 while we sat eating we found mice running in the middle of the reception. we left the next morning, one day early. Total miss selling."

The location is fantastic—it is wonderfully quiet, family-friendly, and offers easy access to the North Cornwall countryside while serving as a great base to explore the rest of Cornwall. The only minor downside for us was finding the exact holiday home within the park, as the instructions weren't quite clear. Since it was our first time there, it would have been really helpful to have clearer identification or a small map pointing to the exact...

"This property didn't exist. I arrived at the postcode "Atlantic reach". No other details were given to me.. after asking several times. Please don't book this i was on a call to Expedia for 3 hours finding me another property which they covered. This property is a scam. Nowhere near Fistral beach..I was fortunate Expedia could find me a property actually at Atlantic reach. As it was bank holiday hardly anywhere to stay near Newquay. BEWARE of this account it is not real. I found out the hard way...

"It was our first trip to Cornwall and we stayed at this hotel for 9 nights. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, and gave useful tips for our trip, such as taking the train from St Erth to get to St Ives (i.e. don't drive!). We booked this hotel as we wanted to have access to a pool with our young children and the facilities were great, and also included a hot tub. Breakfast was always great and the staff were friendly and attentive, and there are options to cater for coeliacs like myself. Highly recommend!"

"Just returned from a short but sweet stay at the Great Western Newquay at the beginning of September. Having stayed previously, i generally knew what to expect, although this time it was apparent that the wear and tear of many busy summers had really caught up with the place and it is all in need of a serious refurbishment. The public areas such as the stairwells, corridors and reception areas in particular are like a throwback to decades past. The location is great and has to to be the hotels biggest selling points. There are many rooms that will have sea views, as well as the bar and restaurant areas all having great views too. The hotel is just far enough away from some of the more "lively" parts of Newquay, that if you end up with a road side room at the front of the hotel, theres less chance you'll be disturbed than some other hotels a little further down. It's also close enough to plenty of other eating areas and a short walk to the town centre to not be considered ti be "out of the way" in any shape or form and ofcourse minutes from both Great Western and Tolcarn beaches. Furthermore there is a bus stop directly outside the front of the property with services towards Padstow, Newquay Airport, St Austell and Truro. Additionally, Newquay railway station is just a 2 minute walk over the road as well! We stayed in a sea view room overlooking the Great Western beach. The views are of course delightful. The room itself was very clean and although very dated well kept."
