"Only picky things to mention. The windows looked out onto reception so we had to keep the curtains closed all the time. The were a few marks in the cutlery draw. This is all very much outweighed by tge staff, cleanliness and comfort. Would definitely recommend. "

"We loved our tent, but it was in need of some repairs. There was wood that needed to be nailed/screwed so it was squeaking in the wind all night. We used a towel to wedge and mostly stop the noise. There was also a broken zipper on the main door but we know how tough that can be to fix and it wasnt an inconvenience. We were most impressed with the showers, WCs and laundry. "The one thing we like about the hotel is that it’s close to the border with Gibraltar and the price was right. Right the hotel is being renovated so even though the noise was kept quiet some areas had dirt everywhere. But overall it’s a nice place to stay. One thing though, it seems that the hotel is a magnet for large groups; there were some sports teams staying there so if you don’t mind staying in noisy areas until late evening, good for you. I prefer quiet places while vacationing."

"Great location and a beautiful property with lots of potential. Overall we had a good stay, but a few things let it down. The bathroom could have been cleaner, and some of the staff weren’t particularly friendly or welcoming. Breakfast on our first morning felt rushed and disorganised, and the breakfast staff came across quite rude. The rooftop, garden and pool areas are lovely, but often felt empty and a little neglected. Overall, a decent stay, but only 3 stars because with a bit more attention to detail, this place could be really fantastic."

I was told that Crisol Monasterio de San Miguel could not transfer the booking so I paid twice. "I had a wonderful stay for my birthday. The spa and the hydrothermal circuit were lovely and very relaxing, and all of the spa staff were so kind. The hotel was quiet, the views were unbeatable, and the poolside service was a lovely bonus. The only downside was the pool outside my room was a little chilly."
