"We loved our stay here recently. Lobby and public spaces are clean and updated and all staff were SO helpful! I booked the “family room” and loved it!! I was confused at booking because it only said 2 twin beds but it actually came with one double bed and 3 twin beds!!! I would suggest fixing that detail for others booking. "This place was clean, quiet, and safe, and is in a pretty setting near/on estate lands. Very convenient from the highway for access to local tourist spots and Shannon Airport. The hotel is super large and sprawling. It seems to be very popular with young families. At our Expedia rate it was pretty basic in terms of amenities. We took a look at the breakfast, which wasn't included in our rate, and it also seemed basic, so we gave it a pass. Great local bakeries and other spots to choose from...

"Our stay at this property exceeded our expectations. The beautiful setting and old grand building were a beautiful site as we arrived. Staff are very helpful in booking reservations ahead of our arrival. Bathroom was fantastic in the family suite with big soaking tub and jets. "The bar and atmosphere were amazing! This hotel was super busy with tour buses and big groups coming through. The food is great and the service excellent! The building is old and needs updated badly. The room showed signs of being very old and not professionally maintained. Faucets leaked, carpet old, bathroom tub left a lot to be desired. Overall I would stay there again, very family friendly. Just understand it is an older hotel."

"The staff at reception were very welcoming and efficient. The 'deluxe' room overlooked the golf course. The bedroom was dated but the superking bed was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was very disappointing, quite dated with limescale and mould on taps and shower head. The shower curtain was mouldy and bath mat clean but discoloured with age. "The hotel was extremely busy which led to service being poor. There was a wedding the night we stayed which led to an obscene amount of noise, and not ideal since we were catching an 8 hour flight next day. Room cleanliness was okay, hairdryer did not work. The main public areas of the bar, restaurant were not very clean. Public bathrooms were also not clean but highly likely due to the high traffic."

"Ennis is a beautiful village and Old Ground is right in the middle. Poet's Corner is excellent. My wife said her meal was the best of any meal she had on a 2 week visit to Ireland and Scotland. Bed slept like a dream. Staff was helpful. Ever a property cat at the door to welcome you to the hotel."
