"Aug 21-24 Our Family stay
I had trouble choosing where to stay because many local properties had mixed reviews. After calling White City, they explained that recent negative reviews were related to maintenance.
This is not a hotel chain, so don't expect luxury amenities or a polished chain-hotel experience. For our family, that was fine. We chose White City for the pool, water slide, pirate-themed kiddie area, and spacious rooms.
A few things to know:
- Hornets and wasps were plentiful around the pool and trees, though we were never stung.
- The pirate ship is older, some pieces and sprayers are missing, and only one of the two slides worked.
- The working slide was very grippy—great for small children, but an arm workout for adults. The foam mats at the bottom were a nice safety feature.
- The children's pool had slick algae and uneven depths, so parents should use caution.
But none of that outweighed why we came.
We wanted a place to swim, play, and spend time together away from a busy city, and White City delivered.
The location is quiet but remote. Restaurants and shops require a drive, and local stores seemed to close around 6 PM. Plan ahead: eat before returning, bring snacks, and don't expect late-night shopping.
Yes, it's older and could use updates, but it gave our family large rooms, activities, and several enjoyable days together.
If you want a modern luxury hotel, this isn't it. If you want a family-oriented place with a pool, I'd consider it strongly."
