We booked via Expedia months ago for the Punk in the Park festival. The photos on Expedia provided by the hotel were amazing. From the rooftop views to the gorgeous pool to the moderns rooms we were so excited to book this stay. As we got closer to the trip our excitement grew.
That all changed on Thursday, July 17th when I first chatted with the people working the front desk.
We arrived early, and knew our chances for early check-in were slim but thought we'd give it a try. The people at the front desk, when I skipped in smiling with gleeful anticipation quickly extinguished my positive mood with their sour "can't be bothered" attitude. You would have thought I asked about their dead cat. All of them were rude, unfriendly and quite surly when I stated, that even though we are early for check-in (please note they don't start check-in until 4:00 which is crazy to me), we wanted to see if there was any chance our room was ready. I was sternly told NO. And that was that. No offer to take our bags, or have some water, or sit at the lounge on the second floor. Nothing. Just NO. I gave them my phone number hoping to get a call when the room was ready.
After driving around for a couple of hours I returned to the hotel at 3:30, mind you no call from the desk, just hoping for a seat in the AC and some water.
