It had actually stained the floor. Sofas not fit for purpose more like something you would see in a waiting room where you don’t need to get comfy. Bedding felt grubby. "This large and very well presented B&B property is ideally situated to visit nearby Hardwick Hall and is just off the motorway. In a safe, rural location, it is purpose built and has plenty of safe easy parking. Our room was spacious well appointed, albeit somewhat functional and lacking decorative touches. The walls are very thin, so our loud neighbour kept us awake most of the night. Breakfast was simple but more than adequate."

"Had both dinner in the main restaurant and breakfast in the cafe. All very good. Great location. Just not alot of parking for hotel guests so needed to use the very plentiful paid parking nearby"

"A lovely hotel and the staff were welcoming. This was a quiet break for myself and my soon to be married daughter. The room was lovely though the view was of the roof which was a shame and not of the beautiful scenery but we needed a rest so wasn’t too concerned. There was a good selection for hot drinks and complimentary biscuits and water which was a nice touch. The food is absolutely first class especially the Sunday Roast! Top marks to the chef and staff who were so friendly. Only one complaint was an odour in our room which the cleaner kindly tried to get rid of but it lingered and a few spiders. We were only there for a short break so didn’t make a fuss. Definitely will recommend ones to visit and definitely will stay again. Thank you."

"This is a really, really nice hotel. The room was lovely. Very nicely laid out, very clean and with everything you need. Very nice bathroom with toiletries and with a good shower and large bath. Breakfast was very good with several choices and we enjoyed a full English and Eggs Benedict. The staff were lovely and were extremely helpful with everything including offering to take our bags up to the room etc. Parking was on site and very good. We arrived quite early, well before check in, and they let us park so that we could go for a walk which we really appreciated. We can highly recommend this hotel and would have stayed longer if we were able."

"Good car park. Spoke to 2 staff that was polite and decent. Helpful with information on bike and walking routes. Smelt a bit like dog wee at the entrance also a broken drain pipe. Bedroom doors slammed shut so could possibly wake u up. All in all fairly decent. Didn’t have breakfast. Got the room for £85 wouldn’t want to pay much more for it tbf. No aircon"
