Unlike large cities in India, it's not terribly crowded. You can walk and won't get harassed as much. The poverty is heartbreaking, but not in the same level as some cities like New Delhi. Overall it's a fine place with not much things to do.

Ahmedabad traffic is becoming worse with little traffic discipline. You get motorbikes being ridden on pedestrian sections during busy periods. Other than that there are plenty of good shops and restaurants here.
