"We stayed at the Mermaid Beach Hotel over the Christmas period. Jude our host was wonderful and I cannot speak more highly of her. However, we were very disappointed with the property itself. We booked this hotel as it was advertised that it included a beachside restaurant and bar. However, this was not the case and the hotel restaurant and bar was shut the entirety of our stay (except for when they opened for a private corporate Christmas party that went until 2am). "The property is lovely with beautiful gardens and pools. It is on the beach with beach chairs and trees for shade, but with gates to maintain privacy and safety. Our accommodation came with breakfast which was quite nice. One recommendation would be to provide training for staff to provide for guests with dietary restrictions, e.g. gluten free requirements.
