"We have stayed at à few Hoshinoya hotels in Japan & Taiwan but this is the worst one so far. The room is dark, outdated and to get from bed to bath with many steps makes it difficult at night when the lights are so dim. Only tap water is complimented in the room . The meditation onsen is so dark inside all you see is dark wall no day light the vibe makes me feel scary not relaxing. No compliments of milk or ice cream after bath only juices cans sharing outside of the bath house for both...

"The rooms booked were quiet and spacious. They were clean and tidy. Breakfast was wonderful as it was delivered directly to room and the food was fantastic. Staff was helpful and friendly and they could speak English. Hotel location is perfect which is only 5-7 min away from JR station by walk and 2 convenience stores are next to hotel. There is only 1 comment about the room setting: the bed is too close to the window and there is no heater near the window, so the cold air flows in the room...

"This is a decent "Business Hotel" style very close to the station. Rooms are always small in this style but had everything I needed and a fair priced coin laundry (albeit one washer and one drier only) to catch up on laundry during the trip. Station is a fair hike from the old town and various "sights" but there's a bus for ¥100 to old town, cycle hire, taxis etc. Station has lots of amenities, restaurants etc nearby (next to the outlet mall). "We really enjoyed our stay here. The location was perfect, with Old Karuizawa Ginza Street right outside the hotel, making it super convenient to explore. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and we loved the organic-smelling toiletries. Staff were always polite and helpful throughout our stay.
