"Lovely staff very helpful few issues on arrival apparently Expedia and the hotel had not communicated properly. We didn't like staying in the Gatehouse room...it was dark, the spare room was quite scary thank goodness we didn't use it. My man was so looking forward to a nice bath and jacuzzi but hey ho...the jacuzzi didn't work. Nice breakfast. Won't stay here again though."

"This castle is fabulous! For Americans it is like stepping into a Downton Abby set. The staff greet you at the door, take your luggage and from that moment forward treat you like royalty. Not only is this a gated property, but you need your sir name in order for the gate to open! Then the drive up the narrow road just enhances your excitement to see the castle. John was great at showing us around and to our room. He was very helpful in understanding where everything was and how to get around....

"Clean, modern hotel near central Kilmarnock. Staff very helpful. Matresses thin, sagging and provide little support; they really need to be replaced with much igher quality mattresses. Restaurant OK for dinner. Breakfast good."

"The entrance to the reception and immediate surrounding grounds were beautiful and immaculate. The additional buildings were not so nice, big standard harling walls. All staff with the exception of one waitress (who was rude) were all amazingly friendly and helpful. There was a family wedding the weekend after we left so the owners were painting various areas (which did not cause any distress) so I’m not sure what the shared areas were like before that. The food was also fantastic albeit...

"Apart from the early morning seagull dawn chorus I found it to be a quiet place. Close to bus and train stations. Close to beach and shops. Friendly owners"

"The hotel was marvellous. We were there for a wedding and everything was fantastic including the breakfast next morning. I'll never use Expedia again as I thought I had booked a suite but they actually booked us into the lodge, which is very nice but my wife has difficulty walking and the lodge was well away from the main hotel. Also. It separated us from the rest of the party."

"Continental breakfast in your room already for you for the stay, could do with freshen up, bit cramped with furniture, shower small i couldn't bend over, cracked mirror n tiles, quiet as bar not open, ok for place to sleep bit overpriced i think personally"

"We stayed here while attending a wedding at the nearby Trump Turnberry hotel. The hotel is a short 15-minute drive from Turnberry and right on the coast road with fantastic views. The hotel has an ample car park and spacious rooms. We found the rooms perfect for our 1-night stay. Included in the room rate are various cold breakfast items like cereals, croissaints, ham in the fridge, fruit yougarts, milk for making tea/coffee. I would not hesitate to recommend this superb hotel."
