"Charming property with delightful rooms. Victorian decor and old world charm. Staff was friendly. No elevator but stairs to second floor were manageable. Beautiful view from 3 sides in the Garden room. Location was convenient to walk to the falls. Bright dining room. Had an excellent dinner and continental breakfast. "Front desk staff was nice but not conversational. Bar food took over 45 minutes only to find out cook was missing in action. Room not maintained well: Buttons missing from A/C, ironing board broken & bathroom door sticks. No mirror in bedroom, no full length mirror & bathroom window needs a shade since it lets light into the bedroom. We never received housekeeping service one of the two nights we were there. This hotel has a brand new manager so hopefully they will improve the guest experience."

"The hotel was conveniently located and very clean. All of the staff were very helpful and friendly. Because of the weather and downpours, we decided to eat in at Monks- and the service was phenomenal as well as the food! Definitely glad we stayed."

"The facility is clean and well maintained, plenty of parking and well located. I was given a handicap room and it is was very dark with false windows and frosted glass and dim light behind the glass. There was 1 lamp and bed lights, but that was not sufficient to provide adequate light for this room. The TV remote did not work, they replaced it but then the TV would not turn off, it had to be unplugged. The bathroom was awkward, no vanity and the toilet paper roll would not stay in the holder....

"This is an extremely well-run hotel. The rooms are modern and spotless. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is right in the middle of Cornell University so you feel immersed in the campus. If you reserve a view room, you'll get a great view of the campus. I would go back there in a heartbeat. And don't forget to walk down to Collegetown Bagels -- the food there is fantastic (way more than just bagels)."

"The hotel has no official parking. They direct you to a public parking garage that charges over $20 to park in. Insane that a hotel charging close to $300 for a room doesn’t have their own parking. The room was bland, absolutely cookie cutter and not well kept. Multiple metal fixtures had staining (possibly rust?). Wooden furniture was breaking down in some places. The “filtered water” they advertise tasted exactly the same as the tap water in the bathroom. You could have gotten a similar...

"Hotel was situated in a good stop. Close drive to Robert Treman State Park. You can walk to Buttermilk State Park. Close drive to Watkins Glen Falls State Park. Close to Cornell Botanical Gardens and Ithaca town. Rooms were clean, staff were helpful. Breakfast was good. Just thought it was silly that they charged $4.17 plus tax for parking. Overall my stay was good."

"This is one of those local places that offered exactly what I needed for a fantastic price. In fact, the standard king size bed was a wonderful plus for me. The room was comfortable, welcoming and perfect. The staff member I spoke to the most was just so helpful, friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was really a nice continental breakfast with coffee offering and was consistently good. I will recommend this to others who may travel that way.
