"Food offerings were pretty standard, although the Teppanyaki was awesome. Pool was very good. Boat to the Erakor resort for Lunch/Dinner was very useful. Significant refurbishment from 8am to 5pm was annoying, made it difficult to relax on the verandah - due to drilling/grinding etc. Room was well located next to the lagoon, spacious and functional. Loved our 1st visit to Vanuatu, the close proximity of Erakor and Ramada hotels provided lots of eating/drinking options."

"The Melanesian is a long-standing feature of the Port Vila accommodation scene and it's very well-priced. The Orchid Rooms are very pleasant but they all face onto the pool area. So you will want to have the windows shut if the music played at the bar and people's conversations bother you. The AC unit in my room did an OK job with keeping the room comfortable even with windows shut. The rooms have a good desk and small table for people needing to do work while there. The included breakfast...

"Wonderful location, would aim for a beachfront hut next time. But all huts lovely. Wonderful staff, great food. Italian chef does some of the best pastas you will find anywhere! Clear water for swimming and snorkelling. Saw azure blue starfish and little fish every day. Highly recommend a week at Breakas Resort."

"The biggest asset to this hotel is their staff everyone was friendly, helpful and engaged with the kids. From the initial welcome from the chief to departing the hotel everything was great. Would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Vanuatu .. "

"The room was cleaned everyday and spotless, all the staff were amazing always going out of there way for you. The amenities are excellent and there is always something to do. The food was delicious and they would always try to cook to your needs. Definitely worth going too and we are definitely going back. "

"The staff prepared a very generous daily breakfast overlooking the serene water. They were so lovely and accomodating and are always there for a chat or to help out. Surrounded by amazing greenery and close to the centre. "

"Our spa room was a little tired however it was immaculately cleaned daily and all the staff were super friendly and helpful. Could not fault the wait staff at the bar and restaurant. Nothing was a problem."
