The location was secluded and felt like a real getaway which was quite different from the hotels I’ve come before.There were many swimming pools and The largest one was so perfect with breathtaking view. After swimming, I enjoyed a cup of coffee beside the swimming pool. The taste of coffee was so addicted and unforgettable. The staff were very helpful, polite and super friendly. Breakfast buffet were delicious with a range of cuisines. My wife and our children really loved them.

Paradise with plenty of room for everyone
10 relaxing days at a fabulous beachside resort. Big room with a comfortable bed, with a thick mattress topper. The beach was spotless, no seaweed, no rocks and generally calm. Somedays it had the ‘Ghost town effect’ but we enjoyed very few guests, no screaming kids and 3 pools and a beach to ourselves. The weekends tend to be busy with domestic tourists and the odd bus tour stops in for a night though the week days. Dong Hoi city is only 2 kms away or 34,000 Dong taxi ride. Great staff and management made this an exceptional stay. Wifi worked every where even on the beach.

Dyreste hotel vi boede på i Vietnam, der var mange ansatte til at holde området pænt, velholdt og rent. Det undrede os bare at de ansatte ikke var bedre til engelsk. Vores låsesystem til værelset blev ved med at gå i stykker, og personalet kunne simpelthen ikke forstå at vi ikke synes det var i orden at komme retur til et ulåst værelse, ganske enkelt fordi de ikke forstod engelsk. De reperarerede døren 3 gange, og først da vi klagede til Hotels.com fik de lavet den så det ikke skete igen. Så et dejligt sted og dejligt område, blev bare ødelagt af at vi ikke kunne forlade værelset uden at være sikker på om alle mulige kunne gå ind på vores værelse.

Overall the place was really good. It's beach front, but was raining while I was there, so was only on beach briefly. I didn't swim in the ocean. The resort has several really nice, picturesque pools. Restaurants are great, rooms are clean. They provide nice robes. The only dissatisfaction was the spa. I mostly booked this hotel for the flower bath picture they have in their overview. I requested this but they did not have it. I asked for a milk bath instead and the "milk" was put into the jacuzzi for both my friend and I, not a special bath for me. (I was already paying separate for jacuzzi,steam room and sauna.) The staff at the spa were really nice though and it truly is a beautiful setting! Minus this one detail, it was a great stay!

i spent very happy time with my family. but i hope it needs more comfortable restaurants with air conditioner and nice and quick service. my important guest was back home before the ordered food coming out. i was really satisfied in total. it was very fantastic surroundings with great nature.

가족여행의 숙소로 좋은 곳~
숙소는 깨끗하고, 직원들은 친절합니다. 직원들의 영어 의사소통이 조금 아쉽지만, 관리자급은 문제없이 의사소통이 됩니다. 실외 수영장과 해변이 연결되어 있으여, 리조트에서 운영하는 제트스키도 좋았습니다. 아이들과 가족들 모두 매우 만족합니다. 다음에 또 동허이에 오게된다면, 다시 이용할 계획입니다. 리조트 주변에 상가나 식당은 없지만, 자전거나 택시를 이용하면 동허이 시내로 다녀오기에 멀지 않습니다.

Lovely spot to chill out. Staff were friendly and we had a big airy room with the mod cons. The resort has seen better days with the rooms being tired and the food is average. But the pluses are a beautiful location, great pool and nothing better than to sit on a swing overlooking the sea. The value for money makes it worth it

This hotel has seen its best days and the staff does not manage to live up to the ambitions of being a great beach resort. The setting by the beach is great but the pools are not clean. The menu is promising but the quality and taste of the food is not. The staff is nice but lacks the confidence and outgoing personalities needed to exceed its customers' expectations.

Derelict and decrepit......
We stayed here to go to Phong Nha Caves foolishly thinking it would be a great beach resort... The pictures are all photoshopped as there is a concrete wall all along the so called beach... In hindsight there are basic but fair hotels in Phong Nha area that would have offered at least a more authentic experience in this area.... There is a lot of development going on however in Dong Hoi and maybe in years to come it may improve as a place to visit

Awesome ocean front resort
Sun Spa was a great resort. We were lucky to spend our last night during our 10 day adventure through Vietnam here. The food was phenomenal both for a sit down dinner in the evening and breakfast buffet. In particular I would like to compliment the bar staff for being able to spin some of the best poolside cocktails we tasted during our trip. Lastly, the hour long thai massages also did us very well. Very positive experience all around. Would visit again.

Outdated hotel, overpriced and overrated. Polluted
Check-in painful, staff's command of English poor to non-existent, room booked (suite) incorrect. Really quiet with the exception of Vietnamese guests at the weekend, so throughout the week like a ghost hotel, rundown and poor facilities all the equipment in the gym was broken. Work going on, on the beach so noisy and disappointing. We had to move rooms because the air-conditioning unit broke down. This hotel is stuck in a time warp, dirty 1970's carpet in the best suites! it really does need a complete re-furbishment, staff training on customer service and a review of their star rating as this is completely over estimated. The restaurant had an extensive menu but was told that all fish and seafood was off the menu due to pollution in the immediate area! Advised not to swim in the sea for this reason too. Totally disappointing.

Fun trip!
Very nice and clean resort! facilities and food was excellent. As usual in VN, we had a little language barrier but that is all forgiven by an over friendly staff.

Beware! "Resort" is not as it appears!
This resort was completely empty during our stay. It felt like a ghostown. Only one restaurant was open and the food appeared very old. The pools looked cloudy and unkept. There was no access to the beach as described. There was no activity or entertainment during our 3 day 2 night stay. It was a complete disappointment and very strange that this large resort was so empty. The quality of the rooms is definitely not 4 or 5 star. Our building appeared to be quite empty as we never once saw anyone else in the hallways or heard any foot traffic. Of all the rooms they could have placed us in, the put us in a room with a view facing piles of construction debris and large concrete pipes and rebar. Everything including the bathroom was very old and worn out. Hallways are dark and musky. This resort has the potential to be a great hotel and perhaps it once was. At it's current stage, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Additionally, all services including tours to the caves are priced at a premium.

Schöne große Strandhotel-Anlage
Unser Zimmer im "Sun Spa Ressort" war sehr schön, groß, sauber und die Ausstattung entsprach einem 4- bis 5-Sterne-Hotel. Auch das Bett war für vietnamesische Verhältnisse recht weich und angenehm. Die Hotelanlage ist sehr gepflegt, mit vielen Pflanzen - und riesengroß, man kann Stunden damit verbringen, sie zu durchwandern. Der Strand lässt keine Wünsche offen: Sauber, feiner Sand, auch beim Hineingehen ins Wasser nur Sand ohne Steine, glasklares blaues Meerwasser, nicht die geringste Verschmutzung. Nicht perfekt im "Sun Spa Resort": Die Randbereiche des Ressorts sind ungepflegt, mit Baustellen und herumliegenden Beton-Rohren. Wir erwischten einen Abend, an dem das Open-Air-Restaurant von einer geschlossenen Gesellschaft gebucht wurde und nicht zugänglich war - d.h. wir mussten drinnen essen statt romantisch am Meer. An mehreren Abenden wurde uns die schöne Bar und das Open Air Restaurant durch unglaublich laute und fürchterlich schlechte Livemusik verleidet (mit regelmäßig quietschenden, übersteuerten Mikrophonen!). - Insgesamt aber ein tolles Hotel zu sehr günstigen Preisen im internationalen Vergleich.

Great location!
I came here for a relaxing holiday in a great location. It has the great location, but there were many families with children so it ended up a bit more noisy than I would have liked. Great place for families with children, but for couples looking for a quiet romantic break, I would go somewhere else.

Horrible management have ruined a beautiful hotel
An example of how ridiculously run this hotel is - There was a small mistake with the pricing of laundry, no biggie... Ourselves and a genuinely lovely staff member didn't pick each other up correctly. They then made her stand infront of us and her colleges in tears, in the middle of the large and busy reception and apologize to us like a child - it was humiliating for everyone involved - us and her. The management refused to speak to us and all we could gather was the girl had to pay (it was far out of her ability to pay as the price was ridiculous). WE paid the outrageous sum, and the girl wasn't seen again (fired). Management were never seen once. We arrived 5 hours early for check in after a 12 hour train journey. We were told to wait in the lobby... And we did without a drink of water for 5 hours in 35 degrees of heat. Great welcome to this "luxury" hotel. We don't expect anyone to speak English, but after the girl mentioned previously was fired / left, there was absolutely no one who spoke a single word of English in the entire resort (I mean not a word, not a single person). They have HUNDREDS of staff, and this leads us nicely onto my next point. Over staffing with people who don't have a clue what to do isn't going to make anything run smoothly - and it sure didn't. There were too many occasions in our short stay to bore you with. Ruined Paradise. Don't book.

Quite a big hotel that seems to be a holiday resort for vietnamese families- so lots of children when we were there. Bit like a european 'thomson holiday' hotel.Staff vary but some were sullen and unhelpful. Decent spa. Food and drinks mediocre. However caves are worth going to and best hotel of this type in the area.

Great short stop hotel
We stayed here for one night as a pitstop for a cave tour. The beach facility surprised us very positively, however the hotel staff in general was not particularly good. Their English was rather poor and in general inattentive.

Goed verzorgd hotel maar te groot hotel om het persoonlijk te maken. Er zijn veel Vietnamezen in het hotel, zowel als gast als aan het werk. De bedden waren hard, maar nadat we geklaagd hadden over geluidsoverlast vanwege de buren, kregen we een andere kamer op de tweede verdieping, en deze kamer was beduidend beter dan de eerste ( op de begane grond). Zwembad is heerlijk, en het strand ook.

Dit hotel geeft de aanblik van een vijfsterrenhotel en zo wordt je ook ontvangen. De kamer is netjes, hoewel ons bed wel hard was (we lagen op de voelbare spiralen van het springveermatras) . Voor alleen zwemmen en relaxen is dit hotel geschikt, maar verder zit er weinig in de omgeving waarnaar je toe kunt. Er was maar 1 restaurant geopend ipv twee ivm weinig hotelgasten. De hotelgasten verbleven vooral vlak bij elkaar. Wij hebben nogal last gehad van luidruchtige (feestvierende) Vietnamezen.

staff were very unhelpful and not any use, could not speak english even on reception, rooms are dirty and very old bathroom, loud live music played until late which can be heard very clearly in the rooms, woken early by staff shouting in the corridors, having stayed in over 10 different hotels across vietnam this was the worst by far even against a very cheap hotel.

Efter at have set billederne på nettet, bookede vi to dage på dette hotel for at nyde strand og pool. Da vi ankom, måtte vi desværre sande, at billederne på nettet på ingen måde taler sandt! Stedet er utrolig slidt, og kun pool'en ved restauranten er vedligeholdt. Det er et kæmpestort hotelområde der sikkert engang har været rigtig flot, men efter en storm tilbage i november er stranden ubrugelig og store dele af hotellet ude af brug - bla. en fuldstændig smadret swimmingpool. Det ville have været rart at vide på forhånd!!! Stranden lignede noget der var rodet op med at gravko, og der lå tonsvis af store betonpiller. Det kan godt være det er meningen, det skal sættes i stand, men det er bestemt ikke sket i skrivende stund. Vi var stort set de eneste gæster, så vi havde faktisk en følelse af at bo på et stort forladt spøgelseshotel. Det skal siges, vi fik rigtig god mad, havde et rigtig pænt værelse og at servicen fra personalet var rigtig fin. Vi valgte dog at forlade stedet efter en enkelt overnatning, selvom vi havde betalt for to.

Hotellet prøver at være meget fint, og det lykkes næsten. Den meget formelle stemning passer dog ikke til kulturen i resten af Vietnam, og personalet virker ikke til at have det helt godt med rollen, men de er dog flinke nok. Hotellet er næsten tomt, så man risikerer at sidde alene i restauranten og være en attraktion for personalet, der tydeligvis keder sig i det tomme hotel. Beliggenheden er fantastisk og værelser og pools er rigtig pæne, så det er et godt afbræk for et par dage på en rejse mellem de forskellige "must-se" steder i Vietnam.
