Nice hotel! Breakfast was wonderful and the staff were friendly. The Cottage was further from the main resort than we expected. It is advertised as a 7-min walk (maybe if you were running). However, they do offer a shuttle to guests which is convenient. Our bathroom was not clean upon arrival, but the rest of the cottage was in great condition. They supply water each day, which was appreciated!

The phone in our room didn't work, and that's what you used to call for a shuttle to the main area. So we told three different groups of people and they still didn't do anything about the phone so we had to walk into the main area for lunch and dinner. Usually don't mind the walk, but in the rain kind of dampened things.

Beautiful property located right next to the beach. Amazing sunset and we enjoyed our breakfast overlooking the golf course and ocean. Wonderful remote location. We can’t wait to come back!

Just checked in a few hours ago and must say it’s one of the nicest hotels with the most helpful staff. We have stayed in numerous 5stars across Ireland and the rest of the world and trump doonbeg is definitely one of the best. Check in was done immediately by lovely gents at the gate and the facilities are top notch. Staff are excellent.

What an amazing hotel in a spectacular location. We stayed in one of the Links Cottages, it was outstanding. The staff at the hotel were so accommodating, nothing was a problem to them. I would certainly recommend this hotel. We will be back soon.

A West Coast Gem

Property is so special. Staff beyond friendly and helpful. Views are amazing, it’s right on the coast. Bed was comfortable. AC was actually cold (rare in Europe, in my experience)! It’s a huge golf destination, but I went w my spouse and it was very special. Highly recommend and worth the trek.

The property is absolutely breathtaking. Our suite overlooked the 18th hole. The golf course is wonderful. The suite was gorgeous. We would’ve stayed longer if we could. My only recommendations is that the gift shop would be more accommodating so we didn’t have to go into town even though it was a sweet village. There were more restaurants. But overall a magical place. A special thank you to a few staff members Shannon and Jennifer at check-in and the wonderful consigner. A few other fantastic people worked in the restaurants Meadbh, Ian, Oliver, Dan the Man, Sara, Breda, and all the other waitstaff for making our experience marvelous.

Terrible experience

Im afraid the arrival experience was so bad it was detrimental to the whole stay. I believe the exact wording of the welcome my wife and I received was an irate and grumpy "what's up, in for a look is it lads". In my opinion this was the exact opposite to a warm welcome and was at best shocking behaviour. I have no idea why any person would greet us in such a manner. Upon arrival to our room I immediately went online to try and book elsewhere, but the nearest available hotel was too far away37 minutes away and as it was already late in the evening, we felt it was too late to move elsewhere and so we decided to stay and try and make the best of it. When I made the complaint to reception, which lucky for me was my first complaint ever in any hotel, the gentleman who called me back to discuss the situation, who despite being very polite, tried to down play the situation by explaining that Trump Doonbeg try not to act too formal, that unfortunately their strategdy did not work out on this particular occasion. Despite our best efforts, the "welcome" ruined our stay and overshadowed everything else.

The staff was extra efficient. We lost our car keys and they helped us look for them. Polite, respectful and friendly!

This was the BEST property in Ireland. I have stayed everywhere in the country and hands down trumps Doonbeg is the ONLY SAFE RESORT full of traditional IRISHNESS! I highly recommend this incredible resort to EVERYONE who comes to Ireland. If you’re looking for 12 star treatment, IRELAND, beauty, fun and safety this is the place to stay. The service is unmatched and the warm happy feeling you feel there is amazing. It’s so pleasant. The rest of Ireland is TRASH because of the government and destroyed tourism making everything into IPAS centers for migrant men driving down safety and running out Irish businesses. But not in Doonbeg, this property will have you feeling like you’re in IRELAND THE WAY ITS MEANT TO BE.
