"The staff were lovley, they were friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. The atmosphere was lively, warm and welcoming. There was a good choice of evening meal and the breakfast menu was also varied and freshly prepared - excellent quality all round especially the coffee!"

Parts of the hotel could do with some tlc, but the breakfast room, dining room and bar area were lovely and the food was great. We liked the gardens with the river at the bottom. "We loved our two nights stay at Melfort House. It was peaceful idyll that restored us somewhat as we were nearing the end of our road trip through Scotland.
