The suite is quite large for my family of 4, clean, close to grocery stores, friendly and helpful staff/owner, highly recommended, will come back again.

Hosts were very nice. The location is really nice if you are looking for somewhere with quick routes to the city centre (bus or walking) but is also nice and quiet.

Cosy and convenient

The room and the property was well kept. The Manager was very clear with information and directions. He even was kind enough to ask about our visit and recommend things to do and how to do them whilst giving different options of going around the city. The property is quite close the city centre and was very convenient.

Lovely stay, helpful host.

I recommend the Capital Guest House without hesitation, it was very clean and the owner is so friendly. He definitely go the extra mile for his guests. The location is convenient for all Edinburgh attractions. Though I didn't need parking I am sure the fact that there is parking is a big plus. I will keep this place in mind as I do visit Edinburgh regularly.

Posizione dell'hotel ottima. Il centro di Edimburgo é a circa 30 minuti a piedi. Il proprierario è stato gentile e disponibile. Ci ha anche dato la possibilità di usufruire di una camera piu grande rimasta libera, senza farci pagare la differenza. Vicino ai servizi. Consiglio Tony's Chip Shop 7 Ratcliffe, un posto vicino all'hotel dove mangiare dell'ottima pizza anche take away!

The place is very tidy and clean. Although it is not close to the city center, there are several bus options direct to the center. The best of the accommodation was to rely on a kind and devoted host. Our experience was superb. He gave us useful tips about the city, transport, events, etc. Moreover, he helped us very much to deal with some issues such as booking a taxi to the airport, printing the boarding pass, etc.

Capital Guest House was clean, had a friendly staff and offered us a spatious comfortable room. It was reasonably priced and conveniently located 10 minutes away from Edinburgh Waverley Station.

Plain guest house, friendly staff

This is an average hotel and is advertised as such. The owner is unusually friendly and will do his utmost to make you feel welcome. The hotel itself is in no way luxurious but you will have what you need. You get a small bar of soap and a small bottle of shampoo but no conditioner or lotion. You get a hospitality tray with a kettle, biscuits, instant coffee, and tea, and the staff does remember to replenish them. You can borrow an iron. We found the room a little dark for working. One of the rooms we were in comes with a private bathroom as opposed to an en-suite bathroom; that is to say, you are the only user but the bathroom itself is external to your room. The breakfast is plain. A table is laid out with four types of cereal, a jug of milk, a jug of orange juice, a coffee maker, and fruit. There are scones, toast, and rolls, and you get one kind of sliced cheese, one kind of cheese spread, and jams. There is cable-TV in the room and two wireless Wi-Fi networks. Both networks were okay for speed but sometimes stalled for a minute or two.

I stayed here for 5 nights during the peak festival season in August. The owner was incredibly nice and helpful, and genuinely wanted his guests to have a great visit to Edinburgh. Room was clean and cozy. The breakfast was a basic continental but plenty to get you up and energized for the first part of your day. Although the location is about a 20 minute walk from the city center, I appreciated the quiet neighborhood considering the city center was extremely loud and full of tourists at the time of my visit. Also, there are plenty of buses in the area (with stops either right across the street or a 3 minute walk around the block) which run every few minutes. I actually ended up taking the buses quite a bit as the 20 minute walk seemed like a lot after several hours of walking in the city center sightseeing/shopping/going on tours each day. But again, this was no problem as they ran so frequently and stopped so close to the house (This includes one of the buses that goes all the way to the airport!). Overall, I had a great stay and would absolutely return on any future trips to Edinburgh!

The hotel owner is extremely helpful

The hotel owner is extremely helpful and provides cozy environment. He makes my family happy during my three-day stay in Edinburgh, although the weather during my stay in Edinburgh is rainy. I definitely will stay here again if I come back next time.

Cute hotel. Nice staff.

The owner was very personable and considerate. He had lots of tips for us, and ensured we had a great stay. The place itself was beautiful. I loved the decor. It also was not a long walk to the royal like which is a huge bonus.

Praktisch gelegen, eenvoudig B&B

Capital Guest House ligt niet te ver van het centrum (30 min wandelen, bushalte in de buurt) en de uitvalswegen. De eigenaren waren zeer vriendelijk, maar het huis moet gerenoveerd worden. Lampen in badkamer kapot, wc-hendel ook. Verder veel lekkageplekken. Het was wel schoon. Het B&B zou nu dicht gaan voor de nodige renovaties, als het helemaal opgeknapt wordt is het een prima adres om te verblijven. Er zijn ook een paar goede pubs in de buurt en supermarkten. Dichtbij winkelstraat. Ontbijt is eenvoudig met veel verpakte broodjes.

Nice guest house, close to Royal Mile and city.

Was very comfortable with lots of buses at front door and we had a very quiet room away from traffic.
