"This was our second stay at this fabulous, historic hotel. Food was extraordinary and the staff is terrific. The maitre de was very welcoming and gracious. Front desk staff and support staff are top notch. Well located and just a very meaningful visit. "

"The room was a little dirty. Lots of dust all over the room. No hot water in the bathroom. Only provide one towel for your trip. There’s a public bathing area downstairs. The onsen was nice. Doesn’t seem like this hotel was renovated in a while. They also only accept cash at the front desk. "

"I had a brilliant time at this guesthouse. The owners were so lovely, kind and helpful. The breakfast was varied and wholesome and plenty of it. The room, although dated, was large and I slept really well. It had everything you needed. It is located close to all the sights of Nikko and a nearby Onsen. A bus ride takes you easily to the lake. I wish I could have stayed longer and really recommend you staying here. The hosts are amazing."

"For a supposed 2 star rated hotel was well above that, on par with 3 star anywhere in Australia. Room was very comforable and bed was biggest I have ever slept in, could have fitted 4 people easy."

"Very quiet apart hotel, little outside the centre. Easy to walk to train station, grocery and restaurants. Projector TV was a hit with the kids and we enjoyed the artificial hot spring tub. "
