"The hotel is relatively new and beautiful. There were a few hiccups that were problematic our first room the air conditioner didn't work and then bumped us into a junior suite which was an upgrade from we originally had but then there's no water pressure and no hot water the first night. They finally managed to figure out how to get us hot water but it was intermittent and would come in and out during the time there. The mattress was hard as a rock and definitely needs a mattress topper. But otherwise the hotel was very beautiful the stay was wonderful the restaurant was great The staff was very accommodating and helpful I just wish they had a better mattress or a mattress topper."

"The resort was okay. I am in my early 20’s with a 2yr old and there weren’t that many activities to do. As someone that goes to a lot of resorts and has been there many years back it was disappointing. There wasn't a variety of food and a small resort overall. I had to check out the next day and contacting them for a refund has been a headache. "

"I was in Select … unfortunately the experience was very disappointing overall. While the beach itself is absolutely beautiful and probably the only real highlight of the property, almost everything else fell far below expectations. The amenities are extremely minimal. No premium alcohol. The “gym” is basically just a tiny room with a few random weights and one treadmill. There is barely enough space for more than two people at a time, and it definitely not a proper fitness center. For anyone who values training or decent facilities while traveling, this will be a major letdown. Another big issue was the complete lack of room service, which is something many travelers expect from a resort experience. The food quality was also poor throughout the stay. Meals lacked variety, flavor, and overall quality. After a couple of days it became difficult to even look forward to eating there. The service from the staff was probably the most frustrating part. Customer service felt careless and unorganized. At one point I was literally locked out of my room because the batteries in the electronic door lock had died. Instead of handling the situation quickly and professionally, it took much longer than it should have and nobody seemed particularly concerned. Overall, this hotel has potential because of the beautiful beach location, but the poor service, weak amenities, bad food, and lack of attention to guest experience made this stay disappointing. I would not return or recommend"

"Hotel was full of locals with no manners,lines to have lunch that we ate outside hotel. When did get to dine the buffet was full of people and cutting in line. I also got very sick when I ate lunch there…had to stay in hotel room all day because to be close to a bathroom. Assigned 3rd floor but elevator was broken. I will not go back but staff was super nice!"

"We stayed at the ibeostar in Cancun and the difference is night and day. This one in puerto plata is not well kept. The pool was dirty, paint around the hotel chipping away , food was okay. No complaints about the staff, they were all friendly and polite. I just wish the facility was up to the same standards as the other locations. Cancun location there were shows and activities that we were made aware of and invited too. Im not sure if there were any here because I did not see any or hear of. The atmosphere was just different. All in all I would probably not attend this location again. "
