Ryokan in Espaillat Province

"I’m sorry but it was not a good stay for me was very disappointed .1st hot water was not working at all .toilet was clogged .smelled like mold .furniture was from the 80’s broken down had no control of the AC . outlet broke my wire to my charger . puddle of water when i first walk in room was not clean .had to ask multiple times for extra towels floors were musty moist due to the mold . food was horrible Breakfest , lunch & dinner . I fell and twisted my Ankel & was bleeding and the front desk could not do anything for me not even give me a band aide .phone in the room did not work the whole 5 days I was there . no room service communication was horrible we would complain to the front desk nothing was done and was told us that when we went to el pilón they was going to compensate us with a bottle of wine for all the mishaps and when we got there they didn’t know what we was talking about I ask for credit and was told no I would not suggest this resort to anyone nor will I ever go back wish i can get my money back My ankle is still swollen and bruised cause they wasn’t able to provide me with no type of 1st Aid Kit not even a band aide so disappointed "

"This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, it was complete chaos — a line of at least 60 people just to check in. After wasting a significant amount of time waiting, we were told to go sit at the buffet and wait even longer for a room that should have already been ready, since we were past the official check-in time. Completely unacceptable. The buffet was no better. The food quality was terrible and honestly felt like an afterthought. It didn’t come close to making up for the inconvenience. The property itself is nothing like what’s advertised. It’s basically a giant, bland concrete structure with zero charm. The layout makes no sense — multiple pools crammed into a tight area, making everything feel overcrowded and poorly planned. What really made things worse was the atmosphere. This is advertised as a family-friendly hotel, but it felt more like a loud party resort. I was traveling with my daughter and felt completely uncomfortable with the environment. It got so bad that we made the decision to leave within the first hour of arriving. That’s how unacceptable the situation was. And to make matters even worse, the hotel refused to give us any refund whatsoever. Save your money and go somewhere else. Do not trust the pictures — they are completely misleading and do not reflect the reality of this place."
