Down Hall Hotel

"The experience was magical and the setting was like it was right out a storybook. Tennis was a big part of why we chose this place and brought our own rackets but was happy to learn that they provided tennis rackets and balls to their guests as well. The room was spacious and clean with everything we needed. The Terrace restaurant provided great dining outside and the food was excellent. The staff from check-in to check out were overly accommodating and very friendly and knowledgeable and so helpful no matter what the question. Walking the grounds and the gardens and the Trim trail gave plenty of opportunity to explore the beautiful outdoors and take in all the beauty of this countryside estate. I want to go back to England just to stay at Down Hall and will recommend this place to anyone. For a large event like a wedding or a romantic getaway just for two. We were made feel like royalty and we felt like we were in a castle with all the conveniences of a high end hotel. It was my first time being in England and will definitely include staying at Down Hall for another visit. And stay a little longer the next time. I didn’t want to leave. We had a wonderful surprise experience and it was so romantic, with the historic setting and the large amount of open space to be explored and enjoyed in the daytime and evening time. Top marks all the way."

"I felt that this motel-style property offered good value for money at this price. The room and bathroom were clean and provided usual facilities for this class of accommodation. There was a choice of full English cooked breakfast or continental style, and evening meals were available at reasonable prices. There seemed to be plenty of parking spaces, and parking is free provided that details are registered at check-in."

"The hotel was spotless, the reception staff especially Alice (hopefully that's correct) were amazing, as were the rest of the staff we encountered. Breakfast was great and fresh and the cooked options were not greasy as we find quite often in other hotels. The room was great, quiet and clean. We would have given 5 stars but unfortunately even though everything else about this hotel was perfect, the bed and the pillows made for an uncomfortable sleep, the pillows felt like they were full of small pieces of foam and the mattress wasn't much better."
