"Our arrival was admittedly very late - 2.30am. TV in our room did not work at all. The 24 hr Receptionist could not communicate so unable to help about the TV. Breakfast was self service Toast/Strawberry Jam and Cereals. Staff hardly any spoke English.We had to leave very early so no experience of whether the Bar was open or not. Very poor quality hotel so will not ever stay there again."

A lovely historic building with gardens and grounds
Very good breakfast in delightful dining room
Free parking on site
Free wifi
It is a few miles out from the colleges/city centre but there is easy access to Madingley road park and ride and therefore Cambridge itself
Rooms are fairly basic but more than adequate for a short stay/long weekend and surroundings and communal rooms make up for any missing luxury in the bedroom.

"Guess we should have realised from the price. This is well located but very basic. The bar below is a noisy club. We didn't mind that, but others might. The room was clean but very basic. Bathroom and toilets shared down a flight of stairs. The staff were lovely. "

"We had a pleasant stay. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a short visit. It's a simple, no-frills place with basic amenities, but it delivered exactly what we expected. Don't judge a book by its cover. The room is renovated and unique. Breakfast was not included but you can purchase it, the day before. We asked for an English breakfast, paid in advance and was served in the morning at the scheduled time.
