"Overall pleasant. Only one toilet provided on our three night stay for two people. Had to purchase our own until we decided to ask for more. Small gestures like these make a difference. Double bed was lopsided n very uncomfortable so lost out on decent sleep. "

"Excellent location and good service from the reception. Small details like wobbly bedside lights, a tiny TV at the far side of the room and a dated bathroom only let it down slightly. Overall, quiet and comfortable with plenty of local coffee, breakfast and drinking places nearby. Recommended. "

"Staff and rooms were excellent - only disappointment for me was no alternative pillows- they were feather filled and to soft for me I prefer a firmer one - also a lot of building work going off nearby which isnt anything to do with the pier house but consequently it looks very untidy and denies access to the pier itself ! "Another wonderful visit at the wheatsheaf. This place never disappoints All amenities to high standard. The bed was very comfortable nice touch with the slippers and gowns even a coffee machine and mini fridge. Nice touch with the room diffuse. Would definitely return."

"I enjoyed a one-night stay very much, in the cleverly designed single room with its own separate bathroom. Very welcoming, all amenities provided (apart from a holder for toothbrush and paste, but it is a very small bathroom!) and beautifully presented and tasty breakfast. A word of warning if you're walking there from the station - it's uphill and quite steep!"
