Staying at Numa Palazzo San Niccolò was an interesting experience. The property itself has a lot of historic character, and being in Florence, you really do get a sense of the city’s charm from the building and its surroundings.
That said, travelers should be aware of a few practical aspects. The hotel uses self check-in, so there is no on-site staff to assist with things like luggage, which can be difficult since there are many stairs to reach the rooms. In the room itself, there were no clear instructions on where to dispose of trash, and supplies like trash bags weren’t provided. Attempts to reach assistance by phone were also unsuccessful.
The Wi-Fi connection was quite weak during my stay, which made it difficult to use. Additionally, there were private events held in the garden during the evening that brought some noise late into the night.
Overall, the building has a beautiful and historic feel, and if you’re mainly looking for atmosphere and location, you’ll get that here. However, guests who value convenience, reliable service, and modern amenities may find the experience less straightforward.
