I’ve been a loyal guest of Ocean Sky Hotel & Resort in Fort Lauderdale for several years, typically visiting once or twice a year. Unfortunately, my most recent stay was extremely disappointing, especially given how much I used to enjoy staying here.The biggest letdown was the ocean view suite. The photos on Expedia and even the hotel's own website are outdated and do not reflect the current state of the rooms. In the past, the suite was spacious and open, offering a full, beautiful view of the ocean — exactly what you expect (and pay for) in an oceanfront stay. Now, a wall has been added in the middle of the room, and the so-called “ocean view” is just a small window with a partial view. It felt like false advertising, and the value is simply not there anymore for the price being charged. The cleaning staff was another disappointment. Not only was the room poorly cleaned, but towels and toiletries were removed and never replaced. Their attitudes were unprofessional and dismissive, which made the experience even more frustrating.
The valet service was hit or miss. The evening valet staff lacked basic customer service skills — no greeting, no effort, and zero professionalism. Thankfully, the morning and early afternoon valet staff were the complete opposite: warm, welcoming, and clearly took pride in their work. The front desk staff were professional and friendly throughout the stay, which was one of the few highlights of the experience. All in all, it was a letdown.
