"Super convenient location in the heart of Funchal old town. Easy access to everything. Rooftop pool area was a real highlight. Room was nice - but not large for a 4-person family. However, the two couches were great for our two kids to sleep on. Morning breakfast was a little underwhelming, but service overall was very good. "

"This was possibly our best hotel experience ever. It was my husband's 50th birthday and management helped to make it truly special.The hotel room and facilities were stunning. The Cliff Bay is very well located, on a beautiful bay a few minutes walk away from the port area (I would recommend this distance away from the cruise ships). We enjoyed a couple of meals from room service (best burger ever...and we've tried many). On the opposite side of the scale, the Il Gallo D'Oro Michelin experience...

"One word that sums up Reids is ‘Classy’. From check in to check out the attention to detail is impressive. The facilities are top notch - we enjoyed the tennis courts and the salt water pool. The breakfast was delicious - and the daily ‘special’ adds to the experience. The room was very clean and comfortable too - what a view! Overall very very ‘Classy’. Loved it. "

"Ich war zuletzt vor zwei Jahren in diesem Hotel. Seitdem hat es einen beeindruckenden Quantensprung gemacht. Sowohl der Service als auch das Ambiente und insbesondere die Qualität der Speisen haben sich auf ein außergewöhnlich hohes Niveau entwickelt, das sich nicht zuletzt im Michelin-Stern 2024 widerspiegelt. Der offizielle Status als Vier-Sterne-Hotel scheint mittlerweile fast zu bescheiden, denn das Haus bewegt sich aus meiner Sicht klar auf Fünf-Sterne-Niveau. Besonders hervorzuheben ist...

"The hotel natural estate was beautiful, the grounds were in there own gardens , the staff very friendly , everything so clean and helpful. Everything was exceptional. The restaurant was very interesting and good , breakfast was so delightful with all the fruits and choices to eat. It is a 5 star excellent hospitality. The outside pool was lovely as well as indoor spa. Not hot but refreshing. "
