"The property was unique and lovely. The staff were really helpful and explained everything clearly to us. The room itself was a traditional Japanese experience. We did pay for a private onsen for an hour but the only downside was that the bubbles didn't work in the jacuzzi but other than that it was great"

"The Japanese style room was phenomenal. The private onsen was wonderful and a great deal too. The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly, and very energetic too. We have travelled overseas a lot over the last two decades, and this was probably the best hotel we’ve ever stayed at."

"Wonderful stay! The room was huge and our view was right to the river it was like a fairytale. The breakfast was also super delicious and lots of food. They come in and set the tatami beds for you and break them down as well. Staff were incredible and their onsen were so relaxing. You get a pass for the 7 big town onsen as well as free entry to both of the hotel’s private ones. We would definitely come back again!"

"I thought this place was really nice, the staff is very friendly and attentive. The private bath is a nice addition for all guests, there are two of them that do not require reservation, and it’s nice to just soak there if available. The location is convenient and it’s right next to one of the 7 bathhouses… but it’s farther from the better ones. The best part about the stay here was the Sashimi dinner platter. The sashimi you get at the start of every dinner is some of the freshest sashimi you will ever eat. It’s S tier sashimi, it’s the best I’ve had in Japan. The rooms are cozy, I stayed in Kasuga, just above the building overlooking the street. There isn’t a shower in the room, you’re encouraged to bath in the 7 bathhouses. "

"Staff were incredibly attentive and nice. Even with the language barrier they went above and beyond using Google Translate to explain the courses of our dinners and breakfasts, as well as information about the town. The hotel was slightly out of town (15mins walk) but they have a shuttle that was basically on demand. We wanted to go into town for the night and they dropped and picked us up at our desired time. The property is also tucked at the base of a mountain which made for a beautiful location. Overall a relaxing stay and a highlight of my 3 week trip around Japan. "

"The family staff here are excellent hosts. They are very friendly and helpful. They showed us everything about the room and helped us with our first experience with the onsens. The breakfast was the best breakfast we’ve had in Japan. Absolutely loved this place"
