"This is an incredibly cool place to say (both literally and figuratively). My husband counted eight separate air conditioners on the roof, which makes sense when you consider this house was built during a time when there was no central AC and summers in Macon can be brutal. That being said, if you're someone who takes a chill, you would be advised to pack warm pajamas or some fuzzy socks. They offer extra blankets, though! This whole place is incredibly beautiful and steeped in history. I cannot...

"It was a beautiful place. Very clean and very historic. Owners were super friendly. Breakfast was so good! The staff was very nice and accommodating, and the location was awesome. The only thing that you need to know is that there are many steps up and there is no elevator. Their staff is more than willing to help, but if you can’t climb steps, that’s something to think about."

"Loved the historical property! Breakfast each morning was lovely with lots of choices. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Elevators were not around in the 1800s so plan accordingly…stairs to 4th floor were great exercise! Lovely stay!"

"The rooms were clean with a nice shower and plenty of hot water. The bed was soft and crinkled when you moved like it was still wrapped in the plastic from the factory. Also for whatever reason, it felt like we were sleeping on a downward slope. It is a rustic property so really no staff and little upkeep to the exterior property. I might even stay again, the price was good. I would check availability at the Canticleer Inn first."
