The WiFi was not great The thermostat is just heat or air with no temperature control. Half pillows The mattress didn’t have water proof covers so there is no real way to keep them clean. "The hotel needs some updates. Rooms were old and outdated. The smell of the air freshener put me in an asthma attack. We left the door open for several hours to air it out. Outdoor seating was dilapidated. If you only need a place to sleep for a few hours it will suffice. Would not go back."

"From the outside the hotel looked slightly dated but the inside was a pleasant surprise. The room was updated and very nice and it was clean. This hotel is a great location to walk to downtown shops and restaurants and is very near the entrance to Yellowstone. The breakfast area seating was full, good food selection. I would definitely stay here again."

"1872 Inn exceeded my expectations. The front desk and housekeeping staff were all so kind and helpful. Check in was easy, and it was very nice being escorted to our room and shown were the amenities were. Breakfast each morning offered a variety of hot and cold options, and staff continually cleaned and refilled. I chose this inn while in town for the Yellowstone 1/2. It was an easy 6/7 min walk to the start line. Would choose this hotel again. "

"The staff do not make up the rooms, but you can exchange your used towels for clean ones and they supply you daily with coffee packets at your request to use in the coffee-maker. Not all units have a fridge."

"This is an older, yet, nicely maintained hotel located within minutes of the West Entrance of Yellowstone. It is in walking distance of everything. Rooms are smaller due to era built. One note for those traveling with dogs, the hallways are narrow and become especially noticeable when trying to pass by large work carts and housekeeping staff with a leashed dog. It’s a bit more to ask of a stressed dog. A conversation about this with the staff was well received."

"The property was well kept and very nice rustic log cabin style. It was better than advertised and the staff was VERY nice and helpful. The hot tub was great, we never saw anyone else using it but we did and it was great! There was plenty of parking near your cabin. The cabin itself was exactly what you hope for, large, rustic, clean, cozy and well kept. Plus, It’s an easy walk to all the shops and restaurants in West Yellowstone"
