plastic every where in the country, poverty is seen in the whole country. male supremacy is obvious. everywhere in the roads and cities there are Iron bars around houses and doors like prisons, a sign of criminal activities. not willing to go back to

Masaya

If your looking for something to do to cool off in Nicaragua's heat, head to Laguna de Apoyo just outside Managua. Resorts line the rim of this volcanic Crater Lake and you can sit by the lakeside enjoying piña colodas. Swimming here is great though there's not much in the way of beaches. Spend the day or stay over night and be prepared to chill.

Catarina

Apoyo Lagoon rests in the crater of an extinct volcano. At the lookout point there are many shops/vendors and places to eat and a restroom (for a price). It's very windy and much cooler up there so bring layers! This is a must see when in Nicaragua!
