"I thought everything was wonderful about this hotel. I was able to keep in mind that they just reopened after a catastrophic one in a lifetime hurricanes with that said the only few things I feel that they could've stepped up with was giving the staff a better work environment, especially the lifeguards. I felt like the staff, especially the staff with the lower paid jobs did not seem like they were respected by the owners and an investors of this hotel. I understand that we have to cater to a world wide audience, but this is Jamaica and I felt there should've been a bit more. Jamaican music played randomly or a bit more of the Jamaican culture implemented within the decor and the overall feel. If it wasn't for the staff, I would've felt like I was just down any other resort in any other Caribbean country or Mexico for that matter.
The rooms were absolutely amazing and the cleaners were exceptional. The hotel layout was the best I've ever been to as they have created a minimal walking environment. Everything is relatively close and there was never a time I felt burden to get anywhere which I've felt at many hotels before.
À la carte restaurants was the only bad review I have as it seemed there needs to be more people hired. Considering there's only a few dishes on the menu to wait over 40 minutes for an entrée while everyone at the table gets entrées at different times 20 minutes apart is unacceptable.
Especially when there is a buffet for the salads and all the starters,"
