"The accommodation is “Airb&b style”, so no service on site. However when I had a problem with access I got immediate attention on the phone. The room was reasonably clean, bedlinen and towels spotless. Shower, hot water etc. working fine, shower gel supplied, kettle available with plenty of tea and coffee. A wee bit shabby outside of the room but I gather they are still working on it. Cleaner/maid friendly. Value for money and I suspect but don’t know for sure that it will improve...

"This property is more like an Air BnB than a hotel. I was emailed the front door entrance code and the room key was in the room. The entrance and hallway were very well decorated with clean (possible new) carpets. It smelled fresh. The room was equally as clean, well maintained and tastefully decorated. "We liked the Alamo overall. The only drawback for us was the bathroom set up - which was in the bedroom, arranged in two separate parts - toilet one side and shower the other with an open bath in the middle. This didn’t suit us at all but could be improved by having a curtain that could be pulled across the gap. Apart from this we enjoyed our stay - the breakfast and staff were excellent. "

"The frontage of this stunning hotel hides the incredible style & comfort inside. It’s absolute brilliant. Gorgeous crisp white high quality bed linen, excellent bathroom /shower/ fluffy white towels, very comfy bed. Every single fixture & fitting is the highest standard. "A very long walk to Irvine town centre"

"Handy for Rothsey, and a lovely old building. My room was facing the harbour and an interesting view. Tired in places, chair was very wobbly, and doors etc as you would expect in a property of this age. However, the retro-fitted en-suite was good, and nice and clean. Felt like carpet had not been hovered. The Scottish breakfast was nice and not too overwhelming. Just right. The guys running the place were really friendly and polite."
