"Everything was amazing"

"This place was very clean and well maintained, spotless in fact, but the only "amenities" are vending machines with drinks and ice. It is more of a very clean and nice motel, not a hotel or inn. Perfect if you want to stay in that area. The immediate neighborthood around the Dunes is not exciting, but there are good bars and restaurants not too far. The employees and operations manager are very nice, flexible and accommodating, and I would certainly stay there again with the above in mind."

"Great hotel, staff super friendly, the rooms are huge and clean. The only downside is the noise coming from outside in the wee hours of the morning - fire trucks, police cars, hot rods, motorcycles. You hear them all - not sure why it happens in this location but it does. The hotel left us ear plugs on the nightstand and I now understand why they do that. But if the noise wasn't an issue, I would be coming back for sure."

I’d say the only downsides for me is that there’s too many locks throughout the property (a total of 4 to go through before you can enter your room - 1 at the main entrance, 2 to enter the building and 1 to enter the room) and since there’s no on-site staff you have to message them on Expedia and wait for a response and they can be a little slow). "We were looking forward to rest and relax by the rooftop pool the second day of our stay, but there was a huge party that afternoon. (The hotel lets non-hotel guests use their pool. Had we known this, we would have stayed elsewhere.) They started setting up for the event in the morning and it was loud. We could hear it from our room. Definitely not the vibe we were hoping for. There wasn’t a coffee maker in our hotel room. It took over 30 minutes to get seated and order a coffee from the cafe...

"Small rooms but had all we needed. Walking distance to places we wanted to see was a plus. Eating places close by"

"Room was clean. Bathroom had two towels, but one wash cloth and one hand towel for two people. Mattress was servicable, but that's about it. The hotel offers free exterior parking, but only 9 parking spaces, all of which were taken when we returned after leaving for the afternoon. Lot's of homeless folks in the neighborhood. All in all, the hotel is not a bad choice for the budget conscious, like me."

"Very nice hotel. The only strange thing was the staff, which is remote to this location, interfacing through a kiosk computer in the lobby. Probably that offsets the costs, but I would still prefer a human on location in case some events require it. Otherwise, the room was very small but clean, and the location is good. It does the job for one or two days maximum I would say."

"The Roxy Hotel is terrific! A small, well-located, basic place to stay with a kind and helpful staff. The location is a bit rough but very near the Metro, bus lines, and markets. There is limited, locked parking at night and street parking close by. The people who run the hotel are wonderful. It seems like there is limited cleaning staff but for a short stay they are clean enough, with plenty of hot water, windows that open to the fresh air, a fan and a refrigerator.
