"Great place to stay. Friendly staff, nice rooms, very clean. A little noisy outside the hotel due some guests chatting and screaming outside the lobby at midnight."
"The staff was friendly and helpful . Hotel is under renovation and the renovated rooms are comfortable , modern . Linens were clean , towels soft and fluffy. Bathroom was small, door swining in was not ideal. If bathroom door swing outward , it would bemore functional. That’s was the only con I felt."
"The front desk staff was amazing, and considering I have had issues at multiple Detroit hotels with front desk wait time and staff, this was a big plus. But, the garbage cans in hallways were full; the carpets a bit dingy; and our "white" comforter on our bed was more a muted yellow with what looked like ink blot stains all over. The closet system looked as if it had not been wiped down in some time; fingerprints all over. In the corners of the room, definite build up of not having been thoroughly vacuumed or cleaned in a long time. So, on the surface everything looked ok; but when you really paid attention you realized it wasn't as clean as you typically get in a hotel of that scale. We went to the food court several times, and the service was great and food was good. And, we took the shuttle service from hotel to the arena, and it was helpful and even fun on the ride back. So, aside from cleanliness, it was a good experience."
"The Godfrey is modern and attractive with down-home southern hospitality and a jazzy good time vibe. From the moment you walk in you feel welcolm. Room was clean and comfortable. Food was a culinary marvel. Service was impeccable. And the place is central to all of the sites. I will be back."
"Ibwas thoroughly impressed with the rehab of a former Fire Station Headquarters! The feeling was unique and nostalgic. I wish they would install a soap r towels racks inside of the shower. I had no place to hold my soap or towel while bathing. I hive the Hotel a 9.5 !"
