"I booked our reservation on hotels.com a couple of months ago. We got to the hotel at 3:30 PM. The desk clerk said that our room wasn't ready. I went outside and informed my wife. After about 10 minutes, I went back in and asked how much longer it would be before our room was ready. The desk clerk then said that my reservation had been flagged as fraudulent because I had make the reservation through expedia.com and that expedia.com and bookings.com were in the process of merging and that it was causing problems with the reservation. I asked if he could somehow override the issue and was told no. I asked if the reservation could be canceled and the room could be sold to me as a walk in and was told no. Because I was from out of state and my reservation was flagged as fraudulent, I could not use a credit card. I had to pay with cash. I said ok and walked out. I called the Best Western down the street. They had rooms available. They cost more but were able to accommodate us immediately. We had a very nice stay at the Best Western and they will always get our business. I tried to call the Red River Inn to cancel my reservation twice and they didn't answer. We stopped by the Red River Inn on our way to the casino to let the clerk know that we would not be staying there and to cancel our reservation. He said ok. That was the only time he was helpful. We had never stayed at the Red River Inn before and we never will. The demand for cash rather than a credit card seemed sketchy."
