The staff were incredibly nice. Drove us to the station so that we wouldnt have to get a cab or walk to the cable car. Good eating experience. Youll certainly try some new things.
As others mentioned the property is a bit dated but otherwise an excellent place to stay around Hakone and is very conveniently located from the cable car and the train stop. Food and Onsen were great and the place gives an idea of Japanese traditional hospitality. You can easily ship your luggage from the hakone station and don’t have to carry them around. If you have any dietary restrictions make sure you tell them in advance because their food offerings are predetermined. I would stay again

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Disliked: Amenities
1. Staff are all very nice and polite
2. The worst thing is the food. Dinner is not food, not much food and we need to drive to family mart to buy cup noddle
3. Onsen is real but no good view

A cozy resting place in the middle of Hakone!
Hotel Kasansui is a lovely place just around the corner from the Hakone Ropeway and situated directly next to the local bus stop.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, and my friend who did not speak Japanese could still communicate with them.
As a part of our stay, dinner and breakfast was included, and it did not disappoint. The total price we paid versus what we recieved seemed like a steal, and the set courses were delicious!
Another part of the stay was the baths, and the two different rooms both had a nice window to watch the green foliage, and one with a semi open roof to breathe some fresh air while soaking.
The hotel feels like it has been around for a while, and some parts of the building and furniture feel a bit worn, but all in all we really felt like we got good value and a great experience!
Property was very well maintained and the owners were extremely kind. The onsens were great, and a traditional Japanese dinner and breakfast were included in the stay.
The two main aspects I didn’t love about the stay were the beds and transportation to and from the hotel. Maybe I missed it or it wasn’t super clear in the description, but our twin beds were more like thin mattress pads and were super uncomfortable. I don’t think every room is like this, so verify with the pictures and descriptions. For the transportation to and from the main train station, there’s a poorly timed bus that doesn’t adhere to the bus schedule at all (granted, they delays are probably caused by tourists not knowing how Japan buses work). If you plan to stay in this area in general, expect another 1.5 hours of travel from the train station due to waiting for the bus and taking the bus.
Very clean and nice property. Multiple bus lines pick you up directly out front. Fast walk to the ropeway and that takes you to owakudani and lake ashii. We did not try onsen
This seems cute towards groups. It’s a 10 minute walk to the nearest store and three minutes from the bus stop thru parking lot. The shuttle bus stops at 5 PM and Texas are in frequent and difficult to find so if you spend your time in the spa which is sorts of fun baths that is no problem however, if you don’t have a car not recommended
Very Old fashion, very run down, not refurbished for very very long time). Pictures do not show how it looks in the reality. The only good thing was the clean sheets . The onsen was not worth a visit. (Dark and did not feel Fresh)
Summary in total; not at all value for money!!!
We have traveled a lot around Japan, and this Hotel was really disappointing us. Made the total experiences of Hakone not great.
