"I had high hopes for this hotel because of the onsen, so we booked three nights in a japanese-style room with half- board (breakfast and dinner).
First, this hotel is located in the middle of nowhere. You cannot walk to town or any restaurants outside of the hotel property. The closest town is Hirayu Onsen, which is a ten-minute bus ride. We should've stayed there instead. We've been traveling all over Japan for the past five weeks so we've stayed at several hotels before this one. This hotel...

"Stay 2 nights in KAI ALPS.
Hair on the bed but I used my own bedsheet.
My package stayed with breakfast and dinner. The menu wasn’t changed after check-in. The female staff was unhelpful and her statement totally inconsistent with earlier statement. Who said the menu can only change by 6pm, but end up still cannot change the menu next day. This hotel is not worth to stay. We will not come back again and do not recommend to my friends and families."

"From start to finish, excellent customer service. Checked in at sunset, incredible sunset view from our room overlooking Lake Suwa.
The check in process was thorough and explained to great detail.
The food was regional, healthy and tasty.
