"Reconsider your choice if you’re planning to visit in the summer. There’s no air conditioning and the windows open about an inch. They do provide one fan but it was extremely hot in the room. I wouldn’t stay again in the heat. The terrace and bar were lovely. Burger was good. In general the place needs some TLC. "The public areas show off the heritage of this very old house to great effect. We loved the breakfast - both staff & food were outstanding. The extensive grounds contain the Golf courses, but even with magnificent trees and the lake, there is no escape from Golf. "Location is superb, 100 ft to Chippenham bus station, and leads than 10 minutes bistro from the train station. Room is spacious, so is the bathroom, big and renovated. Courtyard is nice. There is a leisure pool at site too. Huge parking lot at back. The buffet breakfast offered was full English style and truly great. Staffs were super friendly. "Stayed 2 nights, first night the toilet would not flush and was blocked, the shower was faulty, cold water pulsing on and off so either a cold shower or a shower that would go from scalding hot to freezing cold. The front desk gave us another room, smaller than the one we paid for and the toilet did work, bit the shower was the same. Breakfast was not nice, beside the front entrance was the smoking area, so we had to run past holding our breath. Terrible place. Choose somewhere else."
