"This is definitely a microtel, but I really enjoy staying here when I need to be in DC and intentionally rebooked after staying here a year ago due to the convenience of the location and good vibe of the hotel. This time my room was a little smaller than a previous stay, but still comfortable. I love that the full bathroom area has a true door, unlike some other microtels that feel very much like it's all in one room. There was a little desk in the room that was really helpful for getting work done before needing to leave to be onsite. They provided earplugs in my room which was interesting because I didn't find it to be loud, but they are right by Capital One Arena so that may be part of the precaution. The cafe/bar downstairs is welcoming with good vibes and serves good coffee, albeit $5 for a drip.
Just a couple of quirks worth noting: The room didn't have a single-cup coffeemaker/keurig, which bummed me out a little bit. Having to get dressed and talk to someone to have the first cup of coffee of the day is something I've gotten generally used to not having to do when traveling anymore, so it was a groan moment. Also the body wash was mentholated in the shower (don't remember this from my last visit), which was a very weird vibe in sensitive areas and personally would not want to use again."
