"We were really happy with Captain's Choice, especially after a long day of biking. Great views over the water from the shared patio/deck. Clean rooms. Carpeted hotel floors have grossed me out before but the ones here were clean and well taken care of. Parking in the back lot was a little tight but we found spots for both cars. If I need a room in Haines again this will be my first choice."

"The main issue we had as there is no sign on the building! There is no way to identify you have arrived at the location. You have to get the room key from a store near the building ( we had to ask people in the street and eventually another store owner took us to the right store to get the key) very unprofessional and frustrating. "

"TV's didn't work. changed batteries twice and remote once. thermostat in room all taped up. Staff at front desk was very helpful. brought a blanket and tried to fix remote. fixed the heater. very thin beadspread and no blanket. lots of drug deals going on outside the main lobby. i did not feel secure there."

"It was super cool experience, however the pictures didn’t make it clear that you’d have communal bathrooms and showers, nor did I see it listed anywhere that we wouldn’t have one in the room. Not something I necessarily minded, but they didn’t have any ventilation in the bathrooms so it felt and smelt really dirty. Like you were showering in a Porta potty, it was hard to feel clean staying here. It being in the heart of downtown town made the experience worth it! I would recommend staying here I...

"Great stay, right by the ferry terminal. Staff were very helpful. Drivers were great and helpful with pick up and drop offs. Restaurants were great, staff were wonderful with my 6 year old and his desires for plain food, they made fish especially for him with “none of the extras”, plus a side of ketchup."
