"We were stuck on the third floor. There is no elevator so we had to lug our luggage up three floors. The shower was a flimsy curtain inside an old clawfoot tub. The curtain was not large enough to allow freedom to shower, and even dangerous as it’s design could easily lead to a fall. The lock was flimsy, and the interior door handle was loose, making a loud noise whenever we tried to shut the bathroom door. "I think the staff would do anything possible to accommodate guest requests, even if it was out of the ordinary. Also the location made it surprisingly easy to view local attractions in Sitka, especially the Raptor Center which was awesome!"

"Staff was very friendly and helpful, shuttle provided to and from the ferry. Perfect location, walking distance to everything. Beds and pillows very comfy, AC kept it cool and great for noise, great shower pressure, very charming and historic, Would stay again!"

"We knew when we booked the restaurant was under construction so that was not an issue. The room was large and spacious. The noise we read other reviews about was never an issue for us. Would stay again."

"The hotel has a beautiful view, and the funicular is a fun addition. Unfortunately, those were about the only positives of our stay.
Our room smelled terrible the entire time we were there. Even worse, shortly after checking in, I went to use the bathroom and discovered that the toilet had not been cleaned at all—there was urine all over the toilet seat. This is completely unacceptable for a hotel room.
