"Clean and good beds otherwise it was a disappointment. Shabby work and upkeep, cut corners wherever they could. Eating tables knee high so you bend over for your dry food. The continental breakfast was embarrassing. All dry cereal, no fruit, no rolls, no juices. Just tiny yogurt or milk and instant cereals. Even the coffee was instant. There are so many better places at better prices. They are wringing every cent out of this investment and not concerned for the guests. Sorry to be so direct but that’s what we felt after staying in a dozen other places. "

"very friendly staff here. it is very quiet on this section of the Isle, but you are close to everywhere you will want to go. the property has plenty of parking. it is a historic, older property, so the is no AC or lift. the breakfast room is really nice and a good spot to rest in the AM."

"This is a beautiful place to stay. The view is spectacular. Rooms were clean and the staff was amazing. The only issue was that we expected a tv, but didn't have one. But found out that we didn't need it after all. That was the only reason I gave it 4 stars."

"Food was amazing. Staff was exemplary. The grounds, location and view out the window was unparalleled. But… Horrible climb to third floor with rickety stairs and zero elevator… very difficult with luggage and a baby. Spiders in room. Bathroom FLOOR was covered in what seemed like wallpaper… was wet the entire time and unsanitary. Bathroom tub plug was broken and wouldn’t drain. Housekeeping did not come to our room and we ran out of toilet paper twice in two days in the family room. Staff are overworked trying to manage both pub and formal restaurants every night. Meant long wait times to be seated and served. But the staff absolutely did their best and were fantastic. Could be a wonderful place, really needs some updates. Fish was delicious, but one was undercooked. Mom and baby in our party got sick from it."

"A wee bit of a Fawlty Towers experience when we went to their restaurant for dinner the first night. The hotel in general was good. Comfortable beds and best of all Haggis for breakfast!"
