Embassy Suites by Hilton San Rafael at Marin Center
8/10 Good
"Might have given 5 stars. Cleaning the room, they didn't replace the coffee pods, which stunk the next morning. Not a lot to do/restaurants, etc. in walking distance other than the hotel property."
"They were remodeling and no mention of this was made when booked. Beds scattered around the property, furniture, lamps, mirrors, etc. all out in front and with prices on them, like a yard sale. Building materials, tile, etc. staged everywhere. The office was closed, had sign in door to go to the office of the next door property where they were having a "yard sale" of all grocery items. Could barely move through the office/lobby. No coffee pots or any cups in the room, had to ask the maid who told us to go to the office. It was a crowded office, had to reach over boxes of groceries to get a cup. Breakfast too, was cereal and had to reach over and around scattered groceries to get this. Not a dedicated table area, just a very poor set up. Coffee provided from 7-10 AM only. It wasn't the staff's fault, but the owners should reconsider how they are "remodeling" and the impression it left. Won't be staying there again. Also, room overlooked a car wash that ran from early morning, all day and was quite noisy. The room itself was clean (again, not the staff) but with some deferred maintenance. Husband was aghast. I guess you get what you pay for, but I paid over $130/night (given it was Memorial Day weekend). Just some basic clean up of the clutter would have helped and I hope this review makes that happen."
"I love staying at Inn at the tides the price on weekdays are very reasonable , less crowded and I got a great bodega bay view from my roomy the room is clean, tidy and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I always come back to stay over for Bodega bay and Point Reyes hiking."
