"The staff were extremely slow when in the dining room. It took ages for them to serve drinks and meals. A wait of 45 minutes was normal and between courses. We stayed at Brander Lodge many years ago and sadly it’s not a patch on the standard and friendliness of the staff. Won’t be going back to this hotel. Wife was in the shower when water stopped flowing due demand of other bedrooms using showers for ten minutes."

"Another fantastic stay at Aspen lodge where nothing is too much trouble and you are served amazing breakfasts. Stayed for a week and we literally had a different breakfast daily. You can eat indoors or outdoors too here. "Was ok. Peaceful location but huge gravel car park directly in front of ground floor rooms was noisy in morning and evening. Stale smell inside the hotel in general. Staff were overly “formal / professional” - felt almost awkward at times and didnt feel friendly. Hot breakfast for £25 not good value, continental breakfast at £17 also not good value (yoghurt, granola, canned fruit and watermelon). Good bedding, comfortable beds, but at this price I would not return."

"The hotel is lovely, very tastefully renovated, the bedroom we stayed in (Uist) was extremely comfortable with a proper sized TV. The tea/coffee making facilities in the room were top notch. Beautiful large walk in shower in the ensuite bathroom. Everything about the hotel was done with care and attention, you felt like part of the family. Great food, breakfast and superb coffee.
