5 Stars – Exceptional Anniversary Stay at Adamar Hotel, Istanbul
My wife and I were celebrating our 33rd wedding anniversary and spent a night at the Adamar Hotel after disembarking from a cruise. Our experience was absolutely outstanding from start to finish.
We arrived early, around 8:00 AM, for an 8:30 AM tour. Though check-in wasn’t until later, the manager warmly welcomed us, held our bags, and made sure everything was taken care of while we went on our tour. When we returned around 4:00 PM, the afternoon manager gave us Room 502 — it was excellent — and had all our bags already delivered to the room. He also took care of adjusting our airport pickup time to 4:00 AM the next morning, saving us the stress of having to deal with it ourselves.
That evening, we had dinner at the hotel’s rooftop restaurant, and it was one of the highlights of our trip. The view is breathtaking, overlooking the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, and the Bosphorus. Watching the sunset over Istanbul and the city lights come alive as we dined at 6:30 PM made for a lasting memory. To top it off, the staff surprised us with slices of baklava and a Happy Anniversary song — such a thoughtful and touching gesture!
Then came a travel hiccup: at 3:30 AM, we received a message from British Airways that our IST–LHR flight had been cancelled and rebooked for two days later. I went downstairs in a bit of a panic while my wife was on the phone with BA. The midnight manager was incredibly kind and helpful — he sp
