"This is an out-of-the-ordinary Spanish parador. To be chosen by those on honeymoon, be it for those just married or those celebrating 50 years. The hotel is adjacent to a formidable castle, open for visitation. And there is a gorgeous hike into the woods, also adjacent to the hotel. Jaen is an interesting town, too.
"This was an unusual place to stay overnight on our way further South in Spain.
The location was accurately given by both Google Maps and Waze. You have to trust them as the approach looks a bit unlikely as you get nearer. May be tricky if arriving in the dark.
We were a bit nervous about the entry process using links on our phones but it was all very easy in practice. Just be sure to have mobile signal & power in your battery.
We had the place to ourselves so it felt like staying in a huge...
