Beautiful onsen outside. Beautiful meals with gorgeous dishes and incredible personal service. Rooms were very comfortable and lovely. Some of the food was a bit odd for western tourists but there was more than enough to enjoy. We loved a day trip to Natadera. One of the most memorable temples we visited in Japan and the least crowded. Walk along the gorge also was nice. The town appeared interesting but was mostly closed on Tuesday when we were there.
Magical authentic experience with the family in a ryokan, a scenic lay situated Onsen on the roof (a bit hotter than expected), impeccable service. We took a hosted dinner in the room, warmly recommended.
Excellent meals with meticulous attention to both taste and presentation. Very helpful and friendly staff. The only tiny thing to pick on was the "hot spring tub", i think no one will use the en-suite facility as the public hot spring pools (indoor and outdoor) were way much more attractive.
Great traditional Onsen Ryokan, just prior reservation, hotel will send someone free to JR Kaga Onsen Station Shuttle, want to experience authentic Onsen Ryokan person must experience a Two Meals, if you want to experience the three Kaga Onsen people to stay at least three days in Kaga, to fully experience the authentic Japanese culture! Service personnel super cordial! Our family of four all feel worthwhile!
Wonderful ryokan in beautiful Kagaonsen. Very large suite with comfy futons laid out at night. Outdoor onsen on the top floor has stunning views of the river and mountains. Delicious many course meals in a beautiful dining area- quite magical. Enough English spoken by staff.
