"This ryokan was beautiful with a spacious room and great mountain views. The onsen was particularly nice with indoor and outdoor mineral baths, a cold plunge, and a sauna. There was also a private shower in our room if you aren’t interested in the onsen experience. The half board was good but served traditional local Japanese food - great for the adventurous eater but it may not be for everyone. "This is out of town, but I’m a sucker for traditional onsen ryokan. This place has aged well, rooms are spacious, there is a private onsen on the top floor for 40min usage, and there are a couple of great restaurants 10mins walking distance around. Lawson out the front. Staff were excellent. Only stayed 1 night but would go back. Great if you have a car."

"初めての宿でした。出迎えから見送りまでおもてなしの心が素晴らしかったです。ウェルカムのおやきから夕食、その後のお夜食に朝食、お部屋のプリンまで板長さんのこだわりをずっと感じていました。アメニティのこだわりも素敵でした。露天風呂からの景色も素晴らしかったです。気になったのは客室のテレビ台の埃とサッシのレールの汚れ、あと洗面台の匂いが少し気になりました。あとは本当に満足の2日間でした。また行きたい宿です。"

"A really old-fashioned Japanese onsen experience like nothing else. We ate in the Japanese restaurant one night and French the other evening. The food was fantastic. Rooms were comfortable but old fashioned. I would highly recommend the room with a private onsen - we saw tanuke (Japanese raccoon dogs) approach whilst we were bathing which was a really special experience. We hiked to the ridge (5 hours return) through a beautiful forest."
